Guitar Control
Guitar Control
The basic Guitar Control project concept was to combine a live instrument and live electronics. I chose to create a symbiosis between the instrument and the controller for the Max patch based live electronics.
The patch is a type of looper but with a multi-channel non-linear playback function:
The guitar is in instrument mode and and played to make sounds which are recorded into a buffer.
After ending the recording playback begins and the guitar switches to controller mode now playing the guitar effects the loop playback in different parameters. The note played selects the parameter and the velocity played sets the parameter value
Playable parameters include playback speed, delay, feedback, filters and panning. Most parameters can be modulated and a deviation set between the number of playback channels which can also be dynamically changed in realtime between 0 and 32.
